FOR FOREVER

BY NEIL FLEISCHMANN
I've spent forever
pondering my why
forever wondering
how to never die
My days take forever
and the nights are long
why must life take forever
What may I be doing wrong?
I don't need happy ever after
I'll take just happy enough
But I cannot wait forever
I'm calling my own bluff

Poem of the Day - The Fault In Our Stars (With Apologies to John Green)

Long before
he was made
a household name
by Robert Browning
in the households
of poetry geeks worldwide
poor Ibn Ezra
in his own words
wrote that he was
born without a star.

Shakespeare said,
through Caesar,
we are all born
under stars
but our lives
are not their fault.

John Green
came on the scene late
and looked at the beauty
of man and humanity
and decided that
though they may not be
completely to blame
there is such a thing as
the fault in our stars.
