* Bound in the Bundle of Life

In Memory of Werner Fleischmann

At the cemetery
I think  of you at the cemetery
Steadily standing before your parents
with that old book of the dead in your hands,
The kitchen Yahrtzeit lamp you lit for them,
The kadeishim you diligently davened,
The reminders you gave me to learn for them,
How you never missed a chance to miss them.
You said every day is Father's and Mother's Day
And you modeled that honor through action.
At the cemetery I take in your truth
At your headstone, at the cemetery

(Written on the occasion of the Hakamat Matzeivah
- dedication of my father's burial stone.)
